Anna's approach to counseling

Anna believes that an essential element to therapy is building a safe, non-judgmental environment where clients can feel seen and understood. When working with couples, she embraces an experiential approach that is at it’s core, relational and focused on understanding. Utilizing an emotion focused therapy approach, Anna concentrates on healing attachment injuries and assisting clients in understanding their own unmet needs and those of their partners’. Anna strongly believes in the importance of building rapport and understanding the perspectives of both partners to assist them in communicating their needs to one another.

In her work with individuals, Anna continues to utilize an attachment centered perspective. She combines insight focused approaches, such as narrative, emotion focused individual therapy, and internal family systems (IFS) with other mindfulness-based approaches like ACT.. Anna believes it is helpful to understand one’s past in order to gain deeper insight, self-awareness, and healing…But ultimately, her goal is to help clients shape a new present and future.

When entering therapy with Anna, one can expect an environment that is warm and authentic. Her goal is to cultivate a setting that fosters openness and self-reflection. Therapy is a journey of discovery, and Anna is humbled to be entrusted to accompany her clients on their path.

"When we begin to open the door to our deeper thoughts and feelings, we allow ourselves to grow in ways we never knew were possible. We’re also able to connect to our loved ones in more profound and meaningful ways."
